“How do I get my content to more non-followers?” is a question that I get daily and while I wish there was a special button we could all push, the truth is that it comes down to two things: knowing your audience and creating good content.
And to help you do that I’m sharing the 3 S’s: simplicity, specificity, and shareability. Learn to create content that not only resonates with your audience but also gets shared. Ready to take your content to the next level? Let’s jump in!
What you’ll hear inside the episode:

How to Reach Non-Followers on Instagram with The 3 S’s
The key to getting seen by non-followers is to get as many shares on your content because when your content gets shared it’s getting in front of a whole new audience who hopefully comes back around and starts to follow you.
So think about what kind of content your people are sharing and what kind of trendy content is being shared in your industry.
Now that you have that down, let’s get into the 3 S’s.
When it comes to creating content, make sure your posts are:
✔️ SIMPLE
When it comes to creating shareable content, simplicity is your best friend. We are crazy busy and can not digest masterclass-style content on Instagram because most of the time, we’re reading from the check-out line, while kids are screaming behind us, etc.
Try this: Start with one simple idea, tip, or story.
It doesn’t need to be anything elaborate—just something that resonates. Think of it as giving your audience a quick win or ah-ha moment, a quick laugh, or something that makes them feel seen.
For example, a super simple hack or a funny story about your day can go a long way. The easier it is for your audience to understand and engage with your content, the more likely they are to share it.
Start with a simple idea, tip, or story that resonates with your audience. It doesn’t need to be elaborate; it just needs to connect and engage.
✔️ SPECIFIC
This tip is a game-changer!! When your content is specific, it becomes more relatable and memorable.
Use details, emotions, call out a specific person (ex. moms of toddlers over 35), and paint a picture. Think about Taylor Swift—she doesn’t just say she fell in love with a boy. She talks about the summer, the beach, and the way he makes her feel. It’s those details that make the story come alive.
For example, instead of saying, “Let’s create content together,” you could say, “Let’s go to a cute local coffee shop and shoot B-roll so it feels less awkward.” See how specific that is? Your audience can visualize it and feel it, making it much more engaging.
✔️ SHAREABLE
When your content is both simple and specific, it naturally becomes more shareable.
People love to share content that makes them feel seen, laugh, or learn something new. Think about the types of content you share in your group chats—funny memes, cool finds, helpful tips. That’s the kind of content you want to create.
For example, I recently shared a hack on Instagram about accessing all the audio on Reels by changing your business category to “personal blog.” It got tons of shares because it was a simple, specific tip that solved a common problem.
Sharing content not only helps others but also makes us feel good.
We love being the hero who shares a cool tip, a funny story, or a helpful hack. It creates a sense of connection and community, which leads to more engagement and a growing audience.
So take the time to dig into your target audience and use the 3 S’s now!
❤️ Happy creating friend.
