When people see entrepreneurs & small business owners in the wild they typically see laptops, planners, and a whole lot of coffee.
What they don’t see are the late nights and balancing acts happening behind the scenes. It’s a crazy journey, this small business life, and I’ve learned a few things along the way to help me succeed (and survive).
Here are 5 quick tips to help you crush the small biz life…and stay sane too!
FILL YOUR CUP
First and foremost, start your day right…wake up an hour earlier than your household and enjoy coffee & quiet time. And whether your version of self-care is a good workout or a facemask and binge-watching Bravo (it’s me ♀️), do not forget to take care of yourself, friend. Burnout is real, and as the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE
This entrepreneur life can get super lonely, but it’s easy to find business groups and networking opportunities both online & within your local community. People want to help you succeed, so join Facebook groups, find a mentor, invest in a coach, & collab!
TIME BLOCK
Time management is tough so determine your work hours, take a look at your to-do list, rank your tasks by priority, and time block your assignments.
OUTSOURCE
While social media is my jam, systems are not So instead of trying to do things I’m terrible at, I hired a bookkeeper and website designer, and they have helped me streamline & reach levels I never thought I could. So support other small business owners & outsource!
END THE DAY RIGHT
Don’t go to bed until you have made a list of what you need to get done the next day! This will help you shut your brain off and make sure you know what’s ahead of you. Then unplug completely by putting your phone in another room.
Now tell me, friends…what tips would you give your fellow small biz owner?!
