The key to not burning out on social media? It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing more with the content you already have by repurposing your content.
If you’ve been a follower of mine for a while, you know that I get heated when I read some of the awful advice out there that misleads and overwhelms business owners. One of the biggest lies out there is that you have to post MORE to get seen, and I’m here to tell you, that’s trash.
If I had to create from scratch every single week, month after month? I would’ve quit. Repurposing is what saves me (and my clients) tons of time and energy.
So if you’ve ever felt triggered trying to “show up everywhere,” keep reading. Because I’m about to break down how I turn ONE idea into multiple pieces of content.
But first, what is content repurposing?
Let’s start by telling you what it’s not. It’s not copy and pasting from one platform to another.
Instead, you want to reformat the content you already have.
Like this:
Reel ➡️ Carousel
Carousel ➡️ Reel
Reel ➡️ Thread
TikTok ➡️ Reel
Carousel ➡️ LinkedIn
Now let’s talk about the differences between the platforms and how to adjust your content for each one.
Social Media Breakdown: Different Platforms, Different Strategies.
🤝 LinkedIn: Networking
LinkedIn has changed DRASTICALLY in recent years. It isn’t your boring corporate, buttoned-up platform anymore (can I get a HALLELUJAH?!). It’s a great platform to connect with other like-minded business owners and an amazing place to position yourself as a thought leader!
This is where I’ll typically post marketing insights, share hot takes, and get a little spicy about what needs to change in our industry (ahem, underpaid social media managers). LinkedIn is where I usually connect more with people who do what I do or something similar.
🤭 TikTok: Creative Playground
TikTok is where I can just post to have fun. I’m not really looking for a result BUT it gives me an opportunity to try new trends and have fun!
TikTok is a great place to flex your creativity, post more face-to-camera videos, and connect with a new audience.
📲 Threads: Testing Ground
I love using Threads to test ideas! People are pretty chatty over there so it’s easy to get feedback, see what gets people talking, peek at what they’re ranting about, etc.
If my idea performs well on Threads, I’ll pull it over onto Instagram as a Reel or carousel.
🫶🏽 Instagram: The OG Platform for Community and Conversion
Instagram is where I feel the most pressure to post my best content—and not in a bad way. I just care deeply about what I post here because I want it to truly help my audience (online business owners just like you).
That’s why I often test content on lower-stakes platforms like Threads or TikTok first. Then, if it hits? Bring it to my followers on Instagram.

Repurposing Strategy
1️⃣ Pick a core piece of content.
Not sure what to choose? Let engagement be your sign! If something lands on one platform — comments, shares, saves, DMs — take that as a green light to repurpose it across your other channels. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel every time.
2️⃣ Reformat for the new platform
• Turn a carousel into a video script. Use the slides as your talking points, and record yourself speaking to camera.
• Take a caption and make it a carousel. Break it up into bite-sized points or bold statements, perfect for scroll-stopping slides.
• Convert a reel caption into an email or blog post. Expand on the original idea and add more examples or takeaways.
• Use a LinkedIn post as a TikTok script. You can literally say the same words on camera or overlay the text on b-roll.It’s the same message, just packaged differently.

❤️ Final Thought.
Start with one idea.
Test it on a platform where the stakes are low (Threads or TikTok, maybe?).
Then repurpose with purpose—talk to camera, write it as a post, use it in an email, or build a carousel.
Once you get in the habit, you’ll never start from scratch again.
